Collections

One of many. I'm a collector at heart. And, these are quite an obsession! Vintage advertising thermometers....sigh...

Below is one that I came across at last month's flea market.

It's advertisement has been replaced with one of the neatest pictures of two old women... perhaps sisters. It just needs a little cleaning.

Yesterday, I went to see the AMAZING Alice in Wonderland in celebration of my mom's birthday. We went out for breakfast beforehand, and we had tickets for the 11am showing... admittedly, I was scared to go to a later listing because of crowds. I had been waiting what seemed like forever for this film to FINALLY make it to theaters! So, after the lights went down and the previews began, the film messed up!!!!! Devastation!!! Everyone was given a free pass to a later showing of choice...

So, several hours later, and more long lines, we finally made it into the theater... and then more technical difficulties. We, along with about 200 of our closest friends, sat somewhat patiently for the next 45 minutes in a black theater while things in the back of house were being figured out. All said and done, we finally got to see our movie!!! Visually, it was definitely worth the wait.

And, my little tribute to Alice:

The Alice on the mirror was drawn by my aunt for part of the Through the Looking Glass Halloween Trunk Show in 2009 at Venus & Mars - The Showroom.

New goodies at Venus & Mars - The Showroom

Welcome to March!

Yesterday, I popped in Venus & Mars - The Showroom to put up all new display and many, many new jewelry pieces! And, as usual, I forgot my camera! So, these iphone pic sneak peeks will have to do:

Spring?

Spring, where oh where are you? Don't get me wrong, I love you, Winter, but you have lingered a little too long...

So, While I've been snowed in (what seems the entire moth of February), I've had warm spring days on my mind. Birds, flowers, and colors are abundant in many of the new jewelry pieces I've been working on!

This piece is called Perched, and you can find it in the shop!

This has been the view outside of my studio window for the past couple of weeks. It's quite stunning, but I'm definitely ready for the sun that's out today.
