Tiny Toots

I want them!!! My feet are not that tiny, and I don't have a little one...but I want them!!!

They are REVERSIBLE baby slippers made out of vintage fabrics from Etsy seller, Tiny Happy. Not only are they too cute, but yes, you read that correctly. They are reversible!

Good Morning

It's a dark, gloomy, and rainy morning here. And, I'm still sick. I have no immune system...or so it seems. I am sick all the time...

So, it's a day at home for Mister and me.

My usual breakfast consists of a Starbuck's upside down caramel macchiato with skim and a banana. Today, since there's no rush of catching subway transfers in the masses of people, I'm eating something a little more hearty/healthy.

Multi-grain Cheerios with blueberries, strawberries, and a touch of Splenda.

The TYPE of things that make me happy...

I'm still sick at home, but I thought I would share some photos of some recent flea market finds.

These are two of my most favorite flea market finds of all times. These vintage wooden baby blocks were thrifted back in Nashville at one of my favorite "gettin' spots". Just look at them! I don't remember if I ever had any wooden alphabet blocks of my own as a child, but I do remember playing with them at preschool. The black silhouette sides are fabulous.

I'm not sure why I'm so drawn to type, but these vintage metal types are some of the best that I've come across. And, to top that off, I got them for little of nothing. It was one of those times where I tried not to look to astonished and amazed at the offer I was given while pulling my money out. No haggling on this buy!

BOOM!

I've been taken out in more ways than one this week.

My husband was out sick the first part of the week, and when he went into work on Wednesday, as he was leaving, this is what took place in front of him and his co-workers. (This video was not shot by my husband or anyone he knows. It was shot by izemee on YouTube).

NYC Steam Explosion

It was all quite alarming, especially before all of the details made news.

Then, on Friday, I went home sick from work. Every time I get sick, it hits me in the chest first and my voice slowly fades away. :(

So, this weekend will be taken slowly.

Hope all is well.

Updates and SALES!!!

I have a HUGE SALE going on over here and here! You should definitely check them out.

Also, I have a couple of new items up in my stores (including my new Locked Away Secrets series that I plan to keep adding to). Nathan and I have a friend in town that's been visiting from Texas. So, I've been a little M.I.A. lately. But, we've been having a great time! There will be more updates as soon as things are back to normal around here.

In other news, we went and checked out The Porch Show last night at Cinders Gallery. I can definitely say that there are some AMAZING art pieces up...several of which I would love to own myself, but that had already been sold. :( But, if you are in the area, I would highly suggest checking it out if you haven't already.

Yellow!

Again, sorry for the bad photos. My camera seems to prefer taking photos during the day. :)

Yellow, yellow, yellow....

I seemed to be looking all over my studio for something great and yellow, but surprisingly, I could only find this little vintage Daisy Days book. With being a fan of all things yellow, I'm shocked at the fact that I couldn't find any more items.

This is a really cute little book. It was another Goodwill find.

Check out the inside!

And, it's filled with the cutest little drawings with the most wonderful colors!

By the way, I hope that you all had a wonderful July 4th!!!

Greeeeeeen!

I'm a day late, and my photos are awful, but what can you do?

More things from around my studio...

Books. I'm a fan of finding great vintage books that have amazing visuals in them. My best find yet has to be the Singer Sewing book that I found at a Goodwill. The others are a vintage Little Women and All About Moths and Butterflies.

Red and Pink

I'm joining in on COLOR WEEK hosted by love forever.

I forgot to take my camera along with me in my travels to and from work today (imagine...I forgot my camera...). So, today, I had to take some photos from around the apartment. And, what better room to take photos from than my messy studio, right? Why not.

Here are the pink and red things that jumped out at me today.

I'm not much of a knitter these days, but I do love my bin of knitting and crocheting supplies. The majority of the needles are vintage and are just such a great visual when not in use.

This little red three compartment tray is the home of my vintage glass ornaments, vintage plastic toy charms, and Spirograph pieces. (On a side note, my camera does NOT like taking photos of red objects. Can you tell?)

And, last but not least, a few of my red and pink beads.

A tornado came through...

That's right. My studio looks like it has been through a tornado. It's turned upside down and all around.

I cannot be creative and neat and tidy at the same time. Plus, I'm one of those fortunate (or unfortunate)people that has a million ideas running through my head at once. I usually jump from one project to the other, resulting in having multiple projects going on at once. eeh...

And yes, you are seeing correctly. That is an over-sized coffee table that I work from while sitting on a floor cushion. I have never, ever, ever been able to work creatively while sitting at a table and chair. And, I spread my things out all around me. I had many a teacher comment on this throughout college. :)

So, I shall post the photos of my squeaky clean and organized studio...as soon as it gets there. I'll keep you posted.
